Acting Resume Sample & Template

Actors use their skills and experience to become a character in a film, commercial, play, or other relevant part. Actors may have professional training or may have just garnered the necessary skills through experiences. Acting roles may be both traditional and non-traditional. Actors may have speaking parts playing another person, or dress up to represent a brand or product for a company.

A complete acting resume should include previous work experience in acting, and any other relevant work experience. A proper acting resume should also include both personal and professional experiences in acting. Any roles both large and small should be included in an acting resume, as well as any additional classes or training past a traditional education. All this information should be included as well as personal information, education and any relevant skills and interests.

Common Mistakes for Acting Resumes

Acting resumes should be as professional as resumes for any other position. Even though you may be applying to work for a non-traditional job, your resume should still project a professional image. Although you do want your resume to be professional, you can inject some of your personality and creativity into your resume as long as it still remains professional and easy to read, skim, and comprehend.

Applicants for acting positions should not include irrelevant information on their resumes. This resume should be tailored specifically to acting positions, and should not just be a generic resume relevant to non-acting jobs that you may consider applying for. Your resume should highlight your skills and previous experience, without including too much information that doesn't highlight your interest and skills for an acting position. All relevant experience should also be included on your acting resume.
