Canada's Most In Demand Positions

Canada's Most In Demand Positions
Did you know that across Canada, the most difficult positions to fill are those in the marketing department?
Even though the number of public relations specialists grew by 35% in Canada from 2006 to 2011, Canadian Business magazine notes that organizations are placing more and more importance on reputation management.
This explains the strong demand in marketing and public relations. According to Pierre Francq, Director of Career Management at HEC Montréal, marketing job offers continue to
roll in:
“We have received about 1,000 offers per year for the last five years, which is more than all other management fields.”13 Indeed, 21 candidates apply for each marketing position available. On the other hand, the index demonstrates that human resources positions are the easiest to fill, with a score of 40 out of 100.
For each position in the human resources department, 35 candidates apply. According to a study conducted in 2014, the placement rate for graduates in human resources management was 76.2% and 81.6% for graduates in industrial relations.
A comparison of the job market for professional positions in different Canadian cities reveals that the highest demand is in Toronto (13,088 job offers), followed by Montreal and Ottawa (7,926 and 2,293 job offers, respectively).
The following infographics present the most in-demand positions, across Ontario, Quebec and B.C. (per province) and department.
