As a member of the Site Management Team, the Manager leads the development and execution of site-level HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, and Quality) strategies and programs that align with corporate objectives and Responsible Care® principles.</p><p>This role champions a strong safety culture, drives process safety and emergency preparedness, and ensures regulatory compliance through proactive leadership and cross-functional collaboration with departments and the Global Responsible Care Team (GRCT). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-impact HSSEQ initiatives, managing departmental resources, and achieving key performance indicators to support the safe, reliable, and sustainable operation of the site.</p><p>More specifically, your responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Leading the development and execution of Responsible Care strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, site priorities, and regulatory expectations</li><li>Overseeing the implementation of world-class HSSEQ systems to foster a strong safety culture and maintain regulatory compliance</li><li>Building and mentoring a high-performing, cross-functional Responsible Care team through coaching, training, and succession planning</li><li>Ensuring the site is fully prepared for emergency situations through training, resource planning, and management of the Emergency Response Plan</li><li>Leading the investigation and reporting of incidents, using findings to drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation</li><li>Developing and tracking meaningful performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing results, and initiating corrective actions to improve site HSSEQ outcomes</li><li>Managing the Responsible Care operational and capital budgets to ensure cost effectiveness and alignment with strategic and operational goals</li><li>Representing Methanex in industry groups such as CIAC and GRCT, contributing to advocacy efforts, knowledge sharing, and alignment with global best practices</li><li>Acting as the site’s designated compliance contact for environmental, safety, and process integrity legislation, ensuring all requirements are met and communicated</li><li>Collaborating closely with Engineering, Projects, Production, and other departments to proactively assess and manage risks across all site activities</li></ul><h2><strong>About You</strong></h2><p>To qualify, you will need <strong>a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering</strong> and a minimum of <strong>10 years of leadership experience</strong> in a petrochemical facility or similar industrial environment. At least <strong>5 years of experience leading diverse, multi-disciplinary teams</strong> will also be essential.</p><p>Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:</p><ul><li>Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Management, or Business </li><li>Formal training or certification in HSE, Process Safety Management, or Emergency Response</li><li>Strong understanding of EHS regulations and standards</li><li>Demonstrated experience implementing and managing EHS systems</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant operational software</li><li>Experience in plant operations or familiarity with petrochemical processes</li></ul><div><div><div dir="auto"><div><div><p>As our ideal candidate, you bring sound judgment under pressure, a passion for developing high-performing teams, and a natural ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
