Through these partnerships, everyone is focused on ensuring a commitment and responsibility toward anti-racism, anti-oppression, equity, diversity, inclusivity, and belonging.MISSIONDirector of Finance will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, data entry, grant report entry, ministry reporting, board reporting, managing the organization’s fundraising functions, and budgeting.The Pod Group is partnering with this organization to place a compassionate and hands-on leader to fulfill the role of the Director of Finance.PRIORITIESFinancial Leadership<ul><li>Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner, clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements, examine financial reporting materials for all funder and donor segments, and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting.</li><li>Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, and liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.</li><li>Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process, administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes.</li><li>Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.</li><li>In collaboration with the CEO & Treasurer, communicate and present the financial matters to the Board of Directors.</li><li>Monitor all fundraising and accounting systems and procedures capturing pledges, receipts and thank you letters. Recording and allocating of all revenue transactions.</li><li>Perform the Agencies’ payroll and benefits administration.</li><li>Prepare monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of the organization's financial performance against budget, financial and operational goals.</li><li>Conduct monthly reviews of funder allocations.</li><li>Review monthly budget to actual for specific programs and assist managers in managing their budgets.</li><li>Prepare and support team with program budgets for funder applications.</li></ul>Financial Administration<ul><li>Coordinate the materials for the Finance Committee, including scheduling, preparing agenda, minutes and reporting package.</li><li>Drive initiatives in the management team and organization that contribute to long-term operational excellence.</li><li>Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals.</li><li>Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management team.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>RequirementsTALENTS & EXPERTISE<ul><li>Minimum five (5) years experience working in a not-for-profit in a finance leadership role.</li><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or related field.</li><li>Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of government and funder agency structures, procedures and reporting.</li><li>Experience developing fundraising strategies, grant applications and project proposals that provide core program/organization support is an asset.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.</li><li>Highly organized, analytical and detail oriented.</li><li>Excellent time-management skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast pace, community environment.</li></ul>THE POD GROUP The Pod Group (PG) is a creative consulting group that provides customized and innovative solutions to support our client’s growth and ultimate success while promoting the integration of equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging in creating culture and engagement.We balance strategy and people to help community organizations make better use of their resources by focusing on building the competencies to promote people-centric organizations.The Pod Group has great success in serving a number of community sectors, including health, social services, developmental, housing, mental health, and community health care.We promote a unique approach while incorporating marketing and human resources as an integral component of strategy, mission, and vision.
