Position: Clerk II - Pathology

Status: Temporary Full-time for approx. 6 months

Hours: Monday to Friday, various rotating shifts (subject to change based on operational requirements)

This is what you'll be doing:

The incumbent is responsible for assisting with Laboratory duties to assist with operations and special projects and any other general office duties as required.

This is what you’ll need to do it:

  • Recent office administration diploma from a recognized college and/or recentrelevant admin experience in ahealthcare settingrequired
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a comparable position required
  • Medical terminology certificate preferred
  • Packaging of specimens for send out
  • Documenting, reconciling and labelling specimens
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Minimum of 30 wpm typing speed required
  • Must have fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Experience using patient related databases, e.g. Meditech
  • Must be able to prioritize workload and function independently in a busy environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills required, including exceptional telephone etiquette
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
  • Must be physically able to perform the job: prolonged periods of time sitting; standing; walking; and pushing and pulling variety of wheeled equipment.
  • Must be available for shifts on short notice
