Job Description:
- Maintains planned and actual cost and commitment schedules, in conjunction with the Project Control Manager and Project Manager
- Overseas variation and revision to existing budgets, as well as changes to scope and contract variation quotations.
- Leads the costing discipline and will manage and oversee the costing staff allocated to the project on a day-to-day basis.
- Analyse P6 schedules to establish opportunities to improve the certainty of completion dates of projects
- Analyse P6 schedules to establish opportunities to improve on the current forecasted completion dates of projects
- Establish main risks to project critical path (CP) and identify key risks and mitigation strategies to the CP activities
- Establish a Nett Point management schedule with a 6-week "in view" construction activity lookahead
- Review commissioning strategies, maturity, and business readiness standards to ensure alignment and awareness
- Create a lessons-learned process
- Review overall project control plans
- Review of estimates and schedules
- Review and benchmark projects
- Confirm compliance with agreed plans to the PCC’s global standards and procedures on projects
- Review configuration between execution strategy, capital estimate, and execution schedules in development.
- Review the status of study reports and assign people in accordance with the responsibility matrix
- Benchmark engineering maturities
Qualification Requirements
- MS Project Certification or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Primavera P6 certification or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- A minimum of 5 years of planning experience in the mining industry
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience on large projects over $8 million CAD
- Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CAD, MS Project
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and mechanical drawings
- Canadian Citizen or permanent resident or with valid Canadian work permit
