Customs and Traffic Analyst (Hybrid)

*Temporarily remote due to COVID-19 regulations*
As the Customs & Traffic Analyst, you will apply trade compliance policies to export operations in order to ensure that government regulations are met.   Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be used to review security requirements and risk assessments regarding the Partners in Protection (PIP) program in order to maintain Canon Canada’s certification.   You will perform audits in order to ensure Canon Canada’s import and export activities complied with all Canadian regulations.

Responsibilities:

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintain an accurate Customs tariff classification database of products to be imported into Canada: Organize and maintain files including rulings and product literature
  • Assist with ensuring the correct Canon Canada and/or Canon USA trade compliance policies are followed and applied to each export
  • Performs audits of import and export activities (including record keeping)
  • Perform export operations (prepare customs documents, arrange carriers, etc.), while adhering to the rules and regulations of government and Canon export Policy
  • Assist with the annual reviews for the Partners In Protection (PIP) program
  • Create of logistics reports for customs, imports, and exports
  • Submit insurance claims for international and domestic transportation
  • Create and re-evaluate flowcharts and SOPs for the logistics department
  • Support inbound cost payment and accounting function in the logistics department
Qualifications:

What We're Looking For

  • Post-Secondary Education in Customs and Transportation or Supply Chain
  • Certified Customs Specialist designation is required
  • Certified Trade Compliance Specialist designation is an asset
  • 3-5 years of experience in logistics
  • Abilty to manage multiple tasks and balance timelines  
  • Ability to assess information regarding exports and apply correct policies to meet government policies
  • Strong project and process management skills
  • Expereince with Microsoft Office - with a focus on Excel (Vlookup's and Pivot Tables)
  • French is an asset
