On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Design Technologist, Digital User Interfaces for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Design Technologist, Digital User Interfaces - Job Description:
The project involves UI component design and front-end development for a core platform in the Commercial Banking space, focusing on extending and advocating for the existing design system platform. As a Design Technologist, you will bridge the world of experience design with software development to create exceptional user interfaces that customers love to use.

Design Technologist, Digital User Interfaces - Responsibilities:
• Work on core design system architecture, design token frameworks, and user interface guidelines for Commercial web and mobile platforms.
• Discover user interface patterns and create reusable, flexible, and accessible components.
• Provide guidance to team members to improve their understanding and mastery of design systems.
• Determine strategies for the collection, refinement, governance, and distribution of shared patterns and components.
• Contribute to the creation of reusable components, utilities, and libraries within Figma and contribute to coded components, and component QA.
• Act as an advocate for client-centric design methods and a unified bank client experience.
• Manage relationships with partners regarding design, code, execution, and syncing of User Interface assets.
• Share insights and show thought leadership via presentations and other forms of communication within the Design team and across the bank.

Design Technologist, Digital User Interfaces - Mandatory Skills:
• BA/BS degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Systems Design, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in designing and developing usable interfaces across multiple platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic.
• Strong expertise with Figma.
• Experience in mobile design and/or development (iOS or Android).
• Experience creating or contributing to a design system.

Design Technologist, Digital User Interfaces – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• MA/MS degree or certification in a related field.
• Experience working within a large organization and within an agile environment.
• Experience designing user interfaces for mobile native platforms (Android and iOS).
• Experience with CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with user interface tools and frameworks (Sass, Tailwind, React, Angular).
• Knowledge of software services/APIs.

This is a 12-month contract position.
