As a Education Materials Assistant you will:

  • Respond to queries and provide information on the services related to the Print Health Education Materials (PHEM) program across Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH).
  • Attend to requests by obtaining pertinent information to determine appropriate course of action and explain processes for locating, obtaining and/or preparing materials.
  • Maintain VCH print materials database and website, electronic shared folders and hard copy files/records.
  • Prepare and/or revise a variety of education material including newsletters, posters, brochures and pamphlets utilizing various software applications such as InDesign and/or other designated desktop publishing software; create illustrations, manipulate text, illustrations and photos, edit for visual consistency.
  • Liaise with members from the Community Engagement Advisory Network (CEAN) for their review of education materials from a public/patient perspective.

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12, successful completion of graphic design courses including freehand drawing or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
