Description

Oversee and assist in the preparation and cooking of large quantities of food in an efficient manner.

This position pays $14.60-14.80 per hour.


 

  • Assist with ensuring the smooth operation of assigned restaurant unit
  • Oversee and assist in the preparation (chopping/grating etc.) of large quantities of food in an efficient manner
  • Ensure all menu items are prepared as per recipe
  • Greet guests in a friendly manner and address any questions and concerns regarding the location/park
  • Assist with training of production team
  • Receive/store/prepare/hold and serve food in compliance with the Ontario Health regulations and department specifications
  • Follow proper cleaning and sanitation practices for food and non-food contact surfaces and equipment
  • Inventory of all products prepared and stored in fridges and freezers
  • Safe and efficient use of industrial food preparation equipment
  • Assist in ordering and food cost control
  • Assist in other areas of the kitchen, front-line service and other locations as required
  • Any additional duties as assigned

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for this position
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Culinary program or related course or possess relevant past work experience
  • Past experience in a high volume, fast paced restaurant kitchen environment is an asset
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset
  • Current Food Safety Handler certification
  • Able to follow metric and imperial recipes with sound knowledge of a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Available to work part-time shifts in April and full-time shifts starting in May through Labour Day, and on weekends until the end of Dcember
  • Enthusiastic with good communication skills
  • Able to perform heavy lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Able to work flexible shifts including evenings, late nights, on weekends and holidays
  • Reliable source of transportation, outside of public transit
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment deemed necessary to perform this job safely (may include; gloves, mask and/or face shield, non-slip shoes etc)
