Techmation Electric & Controls is looking for a driven, experienced HSE Field Advisor to join our team. This is a camp based position. This individual must be knowledgeable about current OH&S legislation, and conversant with the industry standards and practices of today's safety-focused oil & gas sector. Candidates must be located within the Fort St John region.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing HSE support to field supervision for the duration of construction projects
  • Delivering site specific orientations to new workers arriving on site
  • Support and upkeep of TECL's HSE programs and initiatives
  • Ensuring Techmation supervision and crews are aware of and adhering to TECL policies, procedures, and client requirements
  • Keeping and submitting active data relating to health and safety indicators
  • Relaying information to field supervision and workers from TECL management
  • Mentoring workers in the identification, assessment, and control of hazards
  • Coaching workers on best practices and positive safety attitudes 
  • Fulfilling all client HSE requests and requirements
  • Contribution to daily toolbox meetings, and delivery of safety meetings
  • Supporting on-site supervision in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and formulating effective corrective action plans
  • Keeping on-site supervision and workers engaged in TECL and client safety programs, informed of changes and learnings, and actively participating in programs and initiatives
  • Site administration duties may be required



  • Must hold NCSO/HSA designation
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in industrial construction
  • Must be familiar with industrial electrical practices
  • Current Standard First Aid Level A or C, Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection, Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 certificates are a requirement
