The Warehouse Leader is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of warehouse and delivery operations. Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.




  • Assist in training, coaching, motivation and performance management of warehouse staff and drivers
  • Responsible for ensuring non-conforming goods area is in order
  • Responsible for coordinating preventative maintenance programs with Ryder, Ideal lease and all other providers of service to warehouse equipment.
  • Responsible for keeping backup files on vehicle maintenance and driver’s logs
  • Responsible for ensuring driver paperwork is current and conforming to all regulations.
  • Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of warehouse
  • Responsible to oversee and assist in picking, staging, loading and unloading of trucks and courier shipments according to company procedure
  • Responsible to conduct rotating cycle counts weekly
  • Responsible to assist with year-end inventory preparation and counting
  • Responsible to assign and maintain bin locations for product
  • Responsible to ensure all warehouse equipment (including but not limited to forklift, pump truck, etc.) is maintained and in good working order and maintenance files maintained
  • Responsible to ensure health & safety requirements are complied with in the warehouse
  • Responsible to ensure Dangerous Goods Floor Plan is updated
  • Responsible to inform Operations Manager of backorders and inventory concerns.
  • Supervises work of subordinates
  • Determines the training and education needs of employees
  • Provides input into hiring, terminating and performance evaluation decisions to next level
  • Responsible for the safe operation and/or maintenance of equipment
  • Involved with information that is primarily straightforward
  • Some problem solving is required
  • Responsible for safe operation of equipment
  • Adheres to all company policies and health and safety procedures





·         Plan, oversee and participate in the warehouse operations and activities




  • High intensity physical activities add up to and average of four to six hours a day
  • Frequent exposure to moderately disagreeable internal and external conditions
  • Works in heated but no air-conditioned environment
  • Conditions may cause some stress or physical discomfort due to exposure to:

Noise, Repetitive lifting, Temperature Variations, Moving product in excess of 50 lbs, Time Constraints, Handling Chemicals

·         Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking

·         Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing and reaching





·         Job tasks call for a higher level of acquired knowledge

  • Job tasks call for specific training in shipping dangerous goods, and WHMIS
  • Job calls for ability to handle powered machinery
  • Job calls for ability to do basic math, and ability to problem solve
  • Unique problems are passed to Shift Supervisor

·         Previous “hands on” supervisory experience within a computerized warehouse including performance management

  • Raymond Reach Certification and Experience considered an asset
  • Efficient and accurate order picking experience
  • Ability to handle powered machinery


·         Minimum High School Diploma

  • Previous "hands on" supervisory experience within a computerized warehouse including Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Word, Excel and email
  • Valid DZ or G drivers license with a clean abstract is an asset
  • Certification in Part 1 & II Health & Safety and First Aid an asset
