The Product Manager will report directly to the Canada Division Manager responsible for the ABB-Dodge Mechanical & Power transmission business in Canada

You will play a key role within the Dodge Mechanical & Power transmission Marketing and Sales team. Reporting to the Division Manager, you will support Business results by overseeing all steps in the product, system or service life cycle including development, launch, maintenance, pricing and profitability of our enclosed gearing, mounted bearing and power transmission components product portfolio in Canada.

Your responsibilities

  • Managing both the launch of new Product and the life cycle from phase-in to phase-out.
  • Collaborating with internal Marketing and Sales teams to define marketing plans, including marketing communication activities, training activities and sales initiatives.
  • Driving profitability of our product portfolio by defining pricing guidelines and market position.
  • Support the Sales Manager and the Field Sales Engineers to present value propositions to customers and facilitate rapid profitable global growth.
  • Overseeing inventory levels and sales volumes to ensure ability to fulfill customer orders, while tracking and analyzing sales performance and trends in terms of volume and profitability.
  • Working closely with Research & Development (R&D) to propose and evaluate product feasibility projects and roadmaps for new products.
  • Providing technical and commercial support to the wider Sales team in critical or special negotiations.
  • Evaluate competitive products, capabilities and technologies as well as other factors affecting the present and future status of the business.
  • Guiding, motivating, coaching and developing the skills, knowledge and competencies of the Sales team.

Your background

  • A Mechanical Engineering degree /Background.
  • More than 5 years of experience in the industry, working as Product Manager or technical field expert
  • Sound knowledge ABB-Dodge mechanical products and the industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in product and/or service marketing and sales strategy.
  • Knowledge and experience of SAP, Microsoft Office, Sales Force and AutoCAD
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, with strong communication and customer-relationship-building skills.
