Overview

As a Senior Associate, Marketing, you will join the Customer Engagement department and be part of a collaborative cross-functional Product Marketing team in support of our digital products. This team is passionate about designing, creating & marketing digital products, platforms and features which accelerate innovation & offer experiences that empower our customers to live healthy financial lives. We’re seeking a data-driven marketer with exceptional focus on customer experience & elevating products to drive value for our customers.

In partnership with your team members, you will be responsible for driving adoption of our mobile app, online banking platform, credit score tool and accompanying digital features while driving brand advocacy. You’ll be our team expert on creating, executing & measuring marketing & creative strategy that help to bring our products & relationships with our customers to the next level. 

What you’ll bring to the table

  • Storytelling expert: You are able to interpret data, come up with a point of view, and provide a recommendation to your stakeholders. You will leverage that data to tell a story and be able to explain the why, how and so what.

  • Customer obsessed: You are passionate about using customer insights and behavioural data to communicate with customers with the right message, at the right time, in the right channel.

  • Project manager: You can effortlessly lead projects by developing highly detailed workback schedules and ensuring all elements of the project are on track by working with teams across the organization. 

  • Strategy & risk focused: You use strategic frameworks that balance business and customer value, and translate a customer problem into something tangible.

  • Relationship builder: Did someone say connect the dots? You’re on it. You have proven experience in collaborating with internal departments (i.e., Business and Data Analysts, Operations/Production, Legal, Creative, Digital Product Managers, etc.) to ensure marketing campaigns are delivered on-time, within budget and represent the voice of the customer within our cross-functional teams.

  • Creative eye: You have an eye for what makes creative great, ability to provide valuable feedback and know how to optimize for various channels.

What you’ll do as a Senior Marketing Associate:

  • Consult on, develop, execute & recommend marketing tactics, tests & strategies to increase product adoption by using insights, analytical storytelling & creativity, channel planning & measurement expertise

  • Manage projects from planning to briefing through launch and assessment, ensuring all elements are on track. You’ll collaborate with teams across internal departments including analysts, operations, legal, creative, product owners, process managers & more to ensure marketing campaigns delivery & execution runs smoothly

  • Use qualitative and quantitative customer data and research to identify key insights and customer segments that inform optimal targeting and messaging strategy recommendations

  • Brief and work closely with internal creative design delivery teams to build attention grabbing & effective creative that represent & elevate the Capital One brand 

  • Partner with analysts to develop tests that determine the optimal way to communicate with customers to drive action, testing channel mix & optimizing based on learnings

  • Develop technical skills to be able to deploy personalized, targeted cross-channel campaigns within Capital One’s ecosystem (email delivery platform, in-app delivery platform) with a focus on digital (email,SMS,app)

  • Develop & execute strong measurement plans including monitor results, optimizing where relevant and using results to inform ongoing strategy; communicate results to key stakeholders

  • Represent our digital products & product marketing across the company; act as a product marketing thought leader, product expert & brand steward to ensure teams are communicating about our products effectively

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Commerce or related field

  • 2 years experience launching cross-channel, targeted customer marketing campaigns (digital channel experience including email marketing preferred)

  • Previous experience in a marketing role in a data-driven organization & strong analytical marketing experience

  • Previous experience working with an internal or external creative design team 

  • Proficient with Excel or Google Sheets to interpret data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a customer or market research team

  • Experience in basic coding and/or data visualization (e.g. SQL, Python, Tableau, QuickSight)
