We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Analytics and Machine Learning Platform team. Cvent’s Analytics platform powers our industry-leading Event Management and Hospitality Solutions. We are passionate about data, and data drives the future of our platforms. If the words Data Lakes, HDFS, Streaming APIs and Spark are more than just buzzwords to you, you will fit right in. And now join our team as we lead Cvent into the next industrial revolution, not just by collecting data, but also by operationalizing it with Machine Learning.

Cvent’s Technology Team is a great opportunity for you to:

  • Work on platforms that support Internet Scale Applications, ingesting massive volume of data, while keeping performance, reliability and scalability as critical goals – not after thoughts.
  • Build solutions that operationalize Machine Learning and democratize data for our customers.
  • Learn the nuts and bolts of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and API first design to build robust RESTful APIs hosted on AWS for scale.
  • Gain experience with different database technologies, ranging from traditional relational to the latest NoSQL products such as Couchbase and Elasticsearch.

Skills/Qualifications we are seeking Senior Software Engineers to have are:

For this specific position, you will have a leg up if you also meet the following criteria:

  • 5+ years of overall development experience building RESTful APIs.
  • Experience working with large RDBMS deployments.
  • Familiarity with Big Data Storage Solutions like HDFS or S3.
  • Knowledge of building software in the cloud.
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science OR a related technical discipline. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Big plus if previous experience with Spark Streaming/Flink/Storm, Beam/Google Dataflow and/or Samza.

Cvent’s not a startup anymore, but you wouldn’t always be able to tell. We’ve worked hard to maintain a culture of entrepreneurship even as we’ve grown larger. So what does it mean to be a Cventer? It means having the freedom to innovate, while still being a part of something larger. It’s having a voice that’s heard, and a team who will listen. It’s working hard, and it’s celebrating our victories together.

At Cvent we celebrate, support and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristics.
