The Supervisor of Cost Accounting will report directly to the Manager of Cost Accounting. This position is in Moncton, NB with a team of 3 professionals, directly reporting to the supervisor.

The position is responsible for overseeing cost accounting functions for international subsidiaries. The role requires the ability to coordinate cost accounting activities across the multiple geographies and business lines. The ability to review and communicate results and variances to standards to the FP&A teams and business partners is essential.

Attention to detail and maintaining strong controls is the cornerstone of Cost Accounting Supervisor role. Policies need to be communicated, maintained, and enforced globally. Month end activities need to be strictly managed and executed timely.


• Deep understanding of GAAP and IFRS related to Cost Accounting

• Provide support for internal and external annual audits of Inventory and Cost of sales accounts

• Develop and enforce cost accounting policies across international subsidiaries according to GAAP and IFRS

• Oversee process of setting annual standards for raw materials and manufacturing LOH absorption costs for international subsidiaries

• Calculate and report on variances to standards and ensure proper matching of costs and revenues

• Prepare, review, and approve account reconciliations

• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries

• Prepare monthly reporting for business partners and attend review meetings

• Review and approve reserves of raw material and finished goods based upon written policies and assist in creating ad-hoc reporting for review meetings

• Review international subsidiary free trial reporting and coordinate monthly review meetings with sales teams

• Prepare and review inventory reporting monthly to provide information critical to decision making and to assist with monthly consolidations

• Ensure SAP processes are functioning correctly and work with IT to fix or improve programs as needed

• Coordinate special projects and participate in testing for new process implementations as needed

• Convert Cost Accounting practices into Financial results and help the business anticipate impacts related to Cost Accounting activities and changes

• Communicate with non-Accounting business leads to explain financial impacts

• Lead and develop team of professionals

o Motivate team to be high performing

o Succession planning for all levels of the group


• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in manufacturing cost accounting environment

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting

• MBA degree, CMA, or CPA designation a plus

• Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality product and introduce innovative processes and solutions specific to the following areas:

 Analytical, financial, and business acumen. Able to succinctly interpret data and frame business issues in a straightforward manner and communicate them effectively

 Proficient in SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint; a basic understanding of BPC Financial Planning System

o Accounting Competencies

 Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and aspects related to managing accounts including policies and requirements related to Inventory, Reserves, and Cost of sales

 Experience managing the implementation and/or maintenance of accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Inventory, Reserves, Cash Flows, etc. in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures

 Participates in annual audits and special projects

 Work with external consultants and/or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes
