The Team Leader, Procurement and Material Management supports operations related to planning and purchasing, receiving, storage of raw materials and shipping of finished goods. In his role, he will be responsible for ensuring the best balance between service to our clients and the optimization of inventories.
Your responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the Procurement and Material Management team in planning, purchasing and receiving raw materials and shipping finished goods.
  • Establish annual inventory plans and apply appropriate strategies to optimize service and value of inventories.
  • Analyze, interpret and present inventory results to the management team and coordinate with relevant stakeholders the actions required to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Analyze sales of finished products, presents trends to the management team and, according to alignment, adjust raw material consumption forecasts.
  • Use the AS400 computer system, generate and analyze MRP requirements and execute optimal action plans (placing, cancelling and shipping orders, etc.).
  • Liaise between ABB and suppliers on various aspects and services such as quality, material management, research and development, introduction of new products, etc.
  • Participate in / execute various continuous improvement projects (reduced procurement time, cost savings, parts substitution, new sources of supply, etc.).
  • Perform other duties and participate in other projects as required.

Your background
  • 2-5 years in coordinating activities related to the management of the manufacturing supply chain
  • Bachelor of Operations Management, B.A.A. or equivalent
  • Experience with integrated systems (MRP II, ERP), AS400 experience an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel required, VBA an asset
  • Highly developed analytical and synthesis skills and ability to translate information into plain language
  • Good communication skills (French and English), interpersonal skills to liaise between operations and sales, and synergy within the team
  • Supply Chain Management Professional Program (P.G.C.A.), an asset
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
