Ajax, Ontario is a suburban area of Greater Toronto that has experienced vibrant growth since the 1980s. Located in the Durham Region of southern Ontario, Ajax is home to many residents who commute to nearby municipalities for work.
Ajax started as a small agricultural town in the 1950s. The 2011 census, however, noted more than 109,000 inhabitants, with a 21 percent increase in growth since 2006. The national average for population growth is only 5.9 percent.
