Edmundston is a town in northwestern New Brunswick with a population of just over 16,000. Its major economic force is the forestry industry, which ties directly into the pulp and paper industry in nearby St. John, which is one of the economic centres of New Brunswick.

Forestry is the primary industry in Edmundston. Most of the work in the industry requires little more than a high school diploma, unless the candidate wishes to gain promotion into middle or upper management roles.
