Manitoba Overview

Located in the heart of Canada, Manitoba is a diverse province rich in natural beauty and vibrant culture. Winnipeg will satisfy big city fans with its festivals, cultural performances and more than 1,100 restaurants. Manitoba's wide open spaces will appeal to nature lovers who can take to the trails and look for polar bears and beluga whales.

Manitoba is one of Canada's most affordable provinces, with low costs of accommodation, childcare and other essential services. After paying for housing, utilities, insurance and other essentials, a Manitoba-based family of five earning C$75,000 per annum will typically have C$17,000 more in their pocket than a similar family in Ontario. Wealthy Manitobans also benefit from affordable high-end homes, vacation properties and golf green fees.

Manitoba is also home to IGM Financial and Great-West Lifeco, who both provide a number of financial jobs in Manitoba. CanWest Global Communications Corp. is one of Canada's largest media companies, and a key employer in Manitoba.
