This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Montreal office. Python / Perl Dev - Job Description: The project involves developing and maintaining a data-intensive back-end platform for vulnerability management. The candidate will work on architecting and enhancing high-throughput ETL pipelines and scalable RESTful APIs, ensuring efficient data processing and system performance. Python / Perl Dev - Responsibilities: • Architect, document, and develop high-throughput ETL pipelines capable of processing billions of events daily. • Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and high-performing RESTful APIs using FastAPI, SQLModel, and Redis. • Develop and deploy monitoring solutions for tracking API usage patterns, response times, and error rates. • Collaborate with the DevOps team to deploy and scale APIs within OpenShift/Kubernetes environments. • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure alignment with best practices. • Establish technical standards, guidelines, and best practices. • Guide and mentor the development team in implementing architectural decisions. Python / Perl Dev - Mandatory Skills: • 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on high-throughput data-intensive applications. • Proven experience with PostgreSQL and Snowflake, including query optimization and schema design. • Advanced Python programming with frameworks like FastAPI and SQLAlchemy. • Strong experience with caching strategies in API design. • Proven track record in designing large-scale, data-intensive systems. • Strong experience in distributed systems architecture. • Deep understanding of data modeling and database design. Python / Perl Dev – Nice-to-Have Skills: • Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems. • Strong analytical skills for analyzing performance metrics and optimizing complex systems. • Excellent documentation and communication skills. • Proactive approach to identifying and solving technical challenges. • Experience with data replication and archiving solutions. Python / Perl Dev – Assignment Length: This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension. Python / Perl Dev - Start Date: ASAP.
