<h3>Laboratory Technician- Seed Production On behalf of our client Procom is looking for a Laboratory Assistant - Seed Production to contribute to canola tissue ploidy identification, tissue culture medium preparation and cell culture for supporting canola doubled haploid (DH) production.  The successful candidate will join a team conducting production and research experiments, extracting nuclei and running cytometer, preparing medium, recording, analyzing and reporting production and research results. This is a 8 month contract in Caledon, Ontario.  Laboratory Technician • Identifying DH tissue ploidy. • Assisting with tissue culture medium preparation and DH production related work. • Maintaining proper records for lab processes, instruments performance, and communicating effectively with team members and supervisor. • Assisting with miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning, handling, autoclaving, packaging and storing laboratory materials. Job Qualifications Laboratory Technician- Seed Production - Must Have Skills </h3><ul><li>A Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology, Cell Biology or related fields. </li><li>Have experience and skills in plant tissue culture is preferable</li><li>The ideal candidate would possess the ability to work under minimal supervision after an initial training period to achieve the research and production goals in a team environment.</li><li>Good aseptic technique and attention to details are required. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and verbal communication skills </li></ul><h3>Applicants should have access to a vehicle as there is no public transportation to the facility. The research centre is located 20 minutes from Brampton, 25 minutes from Mississauga and 45 minutes from Guelph and Toronto.
