This includes, but is not limited to: Innovative recruitment and retention strategies and programs Creative compensation strategies and policies, including market surveys Professional development and talent management strategy Employee and leadership development programs Performance management and reward and recognition programs Employee engagement programs, including the use of portfolio-wide metrics and action plans to measure and improve the employee experience Equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives Health & Wellness initiatives and best practices Organizational development strategies and programs that foster the overall portfolio and University's goals and objectives, including change management support and strategies Ensures compliance with collective agreements and UBC practices by providing guidance and by directing and assisting the portfolio HR staff on building and maintaining a strong and consistent relationship with Central HR Advisory Services and Employee Relations with respect to participation in grievances and arbitrations and all related employee relations matters Responsible for provision of credible leadership and strategic advice, interpretation and guidance to portfolio management staff on a wide range of HR issues Ensures effective performance management practices, including creating programs and practices that support and influence leaders and employees to improve performance. Analyze, plan and implement appropriate staffing development needs consistent with the unit's strategic plans, goals and objectives Liaises with University Health, Safety and Environment Office and Central HR as needed to ensure effective management of workplace health and wellness issues, including accommodations, return to work placements, time loss and other health and wellness issues Performs a wide variety of human resources work assigned by the Managing Director, Advancement Services Performs other duties as required Supervision Received Works within broad policies and strategic plans.
