This role entails overseeing operating budgets and staffing for approximately 112+ long-term care beds, as well as any assigned clinical portfolios, including but not limited to, Skin & Wounds, Falls and Restraints, Medication, Palliative Care, etc.Required Experience and Education:<ul><li>Member in good standing of the College of Nurses of Ontario</li><li>Postgraduate degree required or other equivalent combination of formal training and experience may be considered.</li><li>Minimum 4-5 years experience in a Nursing Leadership position including experience managing/supervising employees in a unionized environment.</li><li>Clinical experience in long-term care setting and/or gerontological nursing a definite asset.</li><li>Extensive knowledge and experience with clinical portfolios in long term care, including Infection Prevention and Control</li></ul>Required Experience and Education:<ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred.</li><li>A postgraduate degree in health sciences required or other equivalent combinations of post-secondary education and experience may be considered.</li><li>Must be a member in good standing of the College of Nurses of Ontario.</li><li>A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Nursing Leadership position, including managing/supervising employees in various disciplines, in a unionized environment required.</li><li>Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a long-term care setting and/or gerontological nursing is required.</li><li>Extensive knowledge and experience with clinical portfolios in long-term care is essential.</li></ul>Other Key Qualifications:<ul><li>Excellent organizational, observational, interpersonal, and communication skills.</li><li>Strong attention to detail with excellent nursing assessment abilities.</li><li>Capacity to work effectively under pressure and handle difficult situations professionally.</li><li>Proficient in demonstrating and articulating resident and employee safety strategies.</li><li>Strong ability and experience in interacting with and caring for seniors, including those with cognitive impairments.</li><li>Demonstrated aptitude to work independently, as well as lead and collaborate within teams.</li><li>Proven ability in managing responsive behaviours using a client-centered approach.</li><li>Experience in planning, developing, and implementing programs to address operational and resident needs, with a focus on evaluating program performance and reporting achievements.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in managing staff, including leadership, motivation, performance monitoring, and evaluation, within complex and high-volume work environments.</li><li>Exceptional written and oral communication skills for effective partnership building and sustained relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as report writing.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for assessing operational performance, identifying risks, developing improvement plans, conducting research, investigations and analysis, and monitoring budgets.</li><li>Good organizational and time management skills with minimal direction.</li><li>Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively during high-volume periods.</li><li>Proficiency in dealing with day-to-day labour relations matters within a unionized environment.</li><li>Ability to assist in reviewing business processes and conducting analyses to streamline and enhance work efficiencies.</li><li>General knowledge and understanding of government legislation, including the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act and its Regulation, as well as other relevant areas such as labour, employment, human rights, health, safety, and WSIB.</li><li>Proficiency in using various computer software packages, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PointClickCare.</li><li>Willingness to work flexible hours, including rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, and statutory/religious holidays), as required.</li><li>Proficiency in Italian language is a definite asset.</li></ul>Hours of Work:37.5 hours weekly. Work during evening, nights and weekends may be required from time to time.
