Nursing Jobs Overview

Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system. They provide dedicated care to patients through administering medication and vaccinations, taking blood and other samples for testing, and supporting movement and hygiene during hospital stays, to name just a few responsibilities. Nurses are also crucial to supporting other medical professionals in their work environment such as doctors, surgeons, psychiatrists, and psychotherapists.

This occupation is facing a shortage, so there’s an abundance of nursing jobs available to you. As a nurse, you could work in a variety of settings from hospitals and clinics to schools, military bases, and many more. In addition to where you work, the options for specialization are numerous, including fields such as:

  • cardiovascular
  • gastroenterology
  • rehabilitation
  • neuroscience
  • psychiatric and mental health
  • oncology
  • hospice palliative care

This incredibly important career requires empathy, a sincere desire to help people, and the ability to perform under pressure.
