Services Technician

The Mobile Service Technician is a front-line representative of Peterbilt Pacific; responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and servicing mechanical and electrical systems and components of commercial transport trucks in remote locations. Strong computer skills, including DSI/Blaze, Decisiv, Cummins Insite, PACCAR DAVIE4, Bendix A-COM, Eaton SR4, Wabco Toolbox, etc.

Our promise is to keep delivering the same award-winning service and value that our community has come to expect from our dealership group throughout the years. Benefits<ul><li>Extended Health & Dental Benefits</li><li>Premiums Paid by Employer</li><li>Employer Contribution Pension Plan </li><li>Growth Opportunities</li><li>Paid Training</li><li>Long term job security</li><li>Employee Assistance Program</li><li>Telus Health Virtual Care</li></ul>Responsibilities<ul><li>Work with our team of Journeyperson and Apprentice Commercial Truck Transport Technicians in servicing over 10,000 trucks per year</li><li>Utilize OEM specified diagnostic procedures to diagnose and repair defects on chassis and drivetrain systems in a timely manner</li><li>Perform diagnostic road tests</li><li>Tag warranty parts and customer parts as required</li><li>Participate in all training programs made available through Peterbilt Motors and outside vendors</li><li>Ensure job-site safety requirements are met including customer requirements such as COR Certification, drug testing, etc.</li><li>Adjust, repair and/or replace parts and components on all commercial transport truck and trailer vehicle systems in remote locations</li><li>Create maintenance plans and perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrication and tune ups in remote locations</li><li>Accurately communicate diagnostics and repair plans with customers</li><li>Remain accountable to the Service Manager for all work performed</li><li>Create estimates and sell service work to customers</li><li>Escalate hard to diagnose concerns to appropriate channel</li><li>Schedule work with remote customers and grow the mobile service business</li><li>Make judgment calls on best repair plans, i.e. towing or repairing on-site</li><li>Travel to remote locations to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs</li><li>Maintain assigned Mobile Service Truck</li><li>Complete understanding of Peterbilt, PACCAR and vendor warranty coverages, so that the correct warranty vs. customer pay determination can be made without supervision</li><li>Invoice customers for service work, including receiving payment</li><li>Other duties and projects, as assigned</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Completion of a four-year Truck and Transport Technician Apprenticeship</li><li>Red Seal Trade Certification</li><li>5 years of Peterbilt service experience</li><li>MVI Certification</li><li>Valid class 1 OR 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement</li><li>Beginner or Intermediate First Aid Certification</li><li>Cummins Midrange, Heavy-Duty and Natural Gas Engine Certifications</li><li>PACCAR MX Engine Certification</li><li>Peterbilt 300-Level Electrical Certification</li><li>A self-starter with an intrapreneurial mindset</li><li>High level of communication with the ability to speak to customers and effectively explain complex failures and repair plans</li><li>Good written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Detail oriented</li><li>Superior mechanical aptitude with an in-depth knowledge of heavy-duty truck repairs</li><li>Strong personal organizational skills as they relate to workload, time management and setting priorities in an unsupervised environment</li><li>Ability to make complex decisions under pressure with no supervision</li><li>Conflict de-escalation, customer service, and customer empathy training is an asset</li><li>Strong computer skills, including DSI/Blaze, Decisiv, Cummins Insite, PACCAR DAVIE4, Bendix A-COM, Eaton SR4, Wabco Toolbox, etc.</li></ul>Compensation Rate<ul><li>$49.18 - $56.68 per hour</li><li>Pay rate will be determined based on previous experience, relevant certifications and skill level</li></ul>Powered by JazzHR
