As someone with excellent communication skills and business acumen, you will thrive in our fast-paced and agile environment. Your OpportunityDillon’s Physical Hydrogeology group is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Hydrogeologist to join our team and take a key role in one of our Atlantic offices (Fredericton, Saint John, Sydney, St. John’s).The successful candidate will lead and support a variety of hydrogeological and environmental projects. You will leverage your expertise to manage complex projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute significantly to our work in groundwater resource management, contaminant hydrogeology, environmental remediation, and groundwater flow modelling.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead, manage, and provide senior oversight for field programs, including well drilling operations, installation of monitoring wells, soil and groundwater sampling/monitoring, and geological logging.</li><li>Design, oversee, and interpret complex hydraulic tests, including slug, recovery, and pumping tests, to assess aquifer properties.</li><li>Lead and manage hydrogeological investigations for various projects, including those related to landfills.</li><li>Lead the assessment, design, and monitoring for dewatering projects.</li><li>Manage, interpret, and analyze complex hydrogeological data using groundwater flow models.</li><li>Lead the preparation of high-quality technical reports, work plans, and proposals.</li><li>Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables, ensuring client satisfaction.</li><li>Mentor and develop junior hydrogeologists and technical staff.</li><li>Contribute to business development activities, including client relationship management and strategic proposal development.</li><li>Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols in all field and office activities.</li><li>Collaborate with project managers, senior hydrogeologists, and other team members.</li></ul> Learning & Development <ul><li>Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development.</li><li>Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>A Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Engineering Geology, or a related field; a Master's degree is considered a strong asset.</li><li>Must hold a professional registration (e.g., P.Geo., P.Eng.).</li><li>Advanced understanding and demonstrated application of hydrogeological principles and practices.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Willingness to travel and undertake fieldwork, sometimes in remote locations and variable weather conditions.</li><li>A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>5+ years of progressive experience in physical and/or contaminant hydrogeology.</li><li>Demonstrated project management experience, including budget, schedule, and client management.</li><li>Proven experience in leading and mentoring technical staff.</li><li>Proficiency with industry-standard hydrogeological software (e.g., Aquifer test Pro, Feflow, Modflow, Surfer, GIS software). </li><li>In-depth knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations. </li><li>First Aid and H2S Alive certifications are an asset.</li></ul> Why choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
