About Us:Valley Geotechnical’s mission, as an employee-owned company, is to listen, mentor and guide our personnel so that our clients receive the highest level of service.  Our team collaborates with other engineering disciplines and clients, to build trust and certainty in all of the solutions presented. Position Summary:Valley Geotechnical is currently seeking an Engineering-in-Training (EIT) to join our team in Kelowna, BC. This position will involve working on projects ranging from small residential applications to large scale developments. This position greatly emphasizes on interactions with fellow employees, consultants, contractors and the general public. Responsibilities:<ul><li>Assist with subsurface investigations, including soil borings, test pits, and field classification.</li><li>Analyze geotechnical data and assist in preparing engineering reports and recommendations.</li><li>Conduct laboratory testing and data interpretation (e.g., Atterberg limits, grain size, compaction).</li><li>Support design and analysis of foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and earthworks.</li><li>Prepare boring logs, site plans, and figures using AutoCAD or GIS.</li><li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and standards.</li><li>Participate in construction observation and quality control monitoring.</li></ul> Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering.</li><li>EIT certification or eligibility to obtain within 6 months.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.</li><li>Excellent hand written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites.</li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.</li><li>Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.</li></ul> What We Offer:<ul><li>Competitive starting salary of $65,000 - $90,000 depending on experience</li></ul><ul><li>Health care spending account</li><li>Paid vacation, sick/personal days, overtime and mileage</li><li>Mentorship from experienced engineers.</li><li>Opportunities for professional development and licensure support.</li><li>Dynamic, team-oriented work environment.</li></ul> How to Apply:Please send your resume and a brief cover letter telling us why you’d like to join Valley Geotechnical to Brad at general@valleygeo.ca  We’re excited to help you launch your career!Valley Geotechnical would like to thanks all applicants for expressed interest in our firm; however, only candidates considered for an interview will be contacted.
