Reporting to executive leadership, the Director is responsible for managing a team, ensuring compliance with the Legal Profession Act and Law Society Rules, and supporting the Credentials Committee with policy implementation and decision-making.Key responsibilities include:<ul style="font-weight:400"><li>Leading and managing the Credentials team, including hiring, training, and performance management</li><li>Ensuring consistent application of fair, effective and timely regulatory process for investigations</li><li>Conducting a reasonable caseload of credential files </li><li>Responding to communications from applicants and licensees on credentials and licensing requirements</li><li>Reviewing and approving reports prepared for the Credentials Committee and providing support to the Credentials Committee</li><li>Monitoring compliance with credentials hearing panel and committee imposed restrictions and conditions</li><li>Overseeing the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program and the accreditation processes for family law mediators, arbitrators, and parenting coordinators</li><li>Executing policy decisions and regulatory changes related to licensing and credentials</li><li>Managing departmental procedures, cross-departmental collaboration, and operational alignment</li><li>Managing the unclaimed trust fund program</li><li>Developing and managing the department’s annual budget</li></ul><h3>About You</h3>To qualify, you will need a Bachelor of Laws, Juris Doctor, or other related legal training, along with a minimum of 5 years of direct operational experience with a focus on administrative law, ideally within a regulatory body. Experience managing staff performance and departmental budgets is required.
