Labourer - Six Month Temporary Hourly Wage: $31.21 Location: Williams Lake, BC As a Labourer at Drax, you will support the efficient operation of our pellet production systems by performing a variety of construction, repair, installation, and maintenance activities. Your role is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance while contributing to continuous improvement and quality control initiatives. So, what will you be doing? This is a temporary position for work on a pulp mill turnaround project at Cariboo Pulp & Paper (CPP), Quesnel, BC.Responsibilities<ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Conducting regular inspections of potential release of flammable vapours or liquids, and ensuring flammable materials are at a safe distance from ignition sources.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Performing duties including on-site safety watch, hole watch and atmospheric testing, spark/fire watch, and gas detection.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Monitoring emergency planning zones and potential hazards and conducting stop-work procedures in high-risk or hazardous situations.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Maintaining proper coordination and cooperation with other members of the site team, so that site activity is not disrupted.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to work in adherence to safe practices, worksite and traffic laws.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">May perform other related duties as required.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. Mandatory in-house training will be provided.</li><li>Steel-toe boots are required.</li><li>Available to attend an all-day training session.</li><li>Available for approximately 2 weeks of work starting September 8, 2025.</li><li>Local to Quesnel, BC.</li><li>Effective verbal and listening communication skills.</li><li>Adheres to company Health, Safety, and environmental reporting and standard assessments.</li></ul>Powered by JazzHR
