There Are Many Careers To Choose From. Which One Is Right For You?

One of the most challenging questions that at some point we all must ask ourselves is which type of career is right for me? For a lucky few the answer to this question was decided very early when they were exposed to exactly "what they wanted to be when they grow up". But for most of us, the process of career selection started during our high school years, when we began to discover our passions, met with guidance counselors, were exposed to career possibilities, attained a first job, or had to decide on a college or university major. Oftentimes, career selection doesn't end after obtaining a college or university degree. More frequently, this is the most earnest stage of the career selection process as new graduates start to enter the workforce and explore different career opportunities.

How to Think About Your Career Choice

Certainly, the task of choosing a career can be assessed across a multitude of dimensions and the answers can be just as plentiful. Moreover, each career field has its own unique set education, experience, skills, and personality characteristic requirements.
